Writing a paper for an interview
Discussion
I've had a few interviews (still looking for that special role though) and most seem to want a presentation of some description. Another interview coming up and I've prepared a spoken presentation on how I would maximise a particular part of the business.
Just spotted it says: please present this document (10 minutes max) at your interview.
Now, I'm pretty happy with the content, but it is something I will talk about rather than have a document to hand out (and talk them through). Am I going to look like I haven't understood the brief, or perhaps gone about it slightly different to others and be remembered? Or just an idiot?

It's sometimes easier to print the doc you're presenting, often this is for either the interviewers to be able to switch off and not really listen or for them to take interest and discuss your points after you've gone. There's no harm in printing a copy of what you're presenting as a handout. If there's no projector you can give it to them while you're presenting it, if there is, you can always just give it to them when you're done. No real wrong way to do it

Also make it clear that any work you present is owned by your present employer due to your current employment contract.
Make it clear that it belongs to you personally as they are not paying you to do the work and you not doing it on your current employers time and dime.Unless its s
t and then they can keep it.944fan said:
