IT Admin in Munich - struggling to find a suitable candidate

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a Mac experienced IT Tech Admin for our office in Munich and wondered if anyone here had any agencies they'd suggest or even local forums or friends/colleagues that might be interested.

It's a good company to work for, the role allows for a good amount of autonomy and they'll be part of a global IT team with some good perks too. The company is predominantly in the design field, but we're lucky to have a lower than average Special Snowflake headcount as mostly they are tech savvy.

I've interviewed a few folk so far but none have been stand out amazing. The salary on offer is good to so I'm struggling to see why we're having a hard time finding good candidates. I've suggested we try another agency but wondered if the power of PH might be harnessed to help.

You're after an 'amazing' candidate for only a 'good' salary?

It might be that what you're looking for doesn't exist for the salary you're offering (you may think the salary's good, but clearly the market doesn't).

You could up the salary to 'amazing' and see what happens. Or; why not accept the best candidate on offer and develop them? Pick for attitude then train the skills in; you might be pleasantly surprised.

Possibly a semantics fail by me - the salary is good (€40-60k) and it's a fun place to work. But the candidates are all a bit flat and for that sort of money I'd expect to have a least one that made me consider hiring them before the interview is out. But so far, nada.

Ah well, the search continues!

Perhaps you should advertise the role better... and perhaps up the salary..

my 2 cents:

For Munich standards that salary is not that high, regardless of the role. It's a very expensive city with companies like Siemens and BMW who pay starting Uni graduates mid to late 50s.

I've had a word with the folks about this and they've been using an agency as the quality of candidates that came in through advertising the post wasn't good.

Good point re the salary (as above); seems OK to me looking from London but maybe we need to reconsider this.
