How long's a piece of string comes to mind (and possibly the reason why you've had no responses to your post yet).

Only you know you're own worth, what your risk/reward appetite is and whether this role will be a good fit. If you've done your own due diligence on the company and the role and it feels right, then it might be right. If it doesn't feel quite right, then maybe it isn't. Good luck and do report back.

I think first off is do you really want to do it?

I know people work rotten hours out of lack of choice but personally I wouldn't want to arrive at 7am and leave at 5pm.

I didn't know 7 until 5 was considered a long day - my short days in banking were 8-6. Long days were, well, longer.......

However you sound like you are not happy about it at all, longer hours than you want and less money. Therefore unless it is a real opportunity..........

7 till 5 is a long day. The ones who say it isn`t are usually employers trying to convince others that they are lazy.

Life work balance is all that counts.
