Updated work contract not allowing access to union rep.

Hi
My partner works part time at a gym who are not the best employers.
They have updated the contract.
They have put a section in saying in the event of a disciplinary hearing you cant take a union rep in only a work colleague.
Looking at the accas website this appears to be illegal. The accas, ugov and cab sites all say that you have to be able a to take either in.
Whats the best way to deal this i've told her to speak to her union rep and see what their legal guys say.
Unfortunately this is not the 1st post ive put about this place.

They can certainly stop you from taking a union rep - but that would probably be looked upon very poorly by an employment tribunal if it came to that.
