Hello,

I'll try and keep this short! I currently have been working in my current job, as an engineer, for nearly 5 years at a maker of yellow diggers. I've been thinking of moving for a little while for a new challenge etc. The fiancee is originally from Notts, and wants to move back towards home, which is fine with me. We currently live in North Shropshire. Therefore I am looking for jobs that way, which means places like Derby and Coventry are on the radar. I've always wanted to work within railways, but an open to automotive.

I'm also aware that my CV probably needs looking over, so recommendations on where to get this done would be great, as well as any other thoughts you good people have.

Many thanks

I've been poring over CVs of young engineers for years.
professional Cv writers seem to do little more than posh layouts, and get you to BS more on it...

When engineering and Derby are mentioned together I can't help but shout Rolls-Royce. Not just automotive engineering either. Has to be worth exploring.

Bombardier? I know a couple of folks that have worked there.

Happy to look at your CV - in the medical rather than big chunks of steel sector wink but have done quite a bit of CV reviewing.

Happy to provide feedback on your CV; it's what I do.

Opportunities in the East Midlands are many for good engineers.

Good luck!

Thanks for the offers of looking over my CV. I'll get back to you over PM.

I haven't forgotten about Rolls-Royce, and Bombardier is on the list. A friends sister has offered that if I send my CV to her, she'll send it to the right people in Bombardier.

I'm open to the idea and haven't ruled it out. I know there's Rolls Royce, as mentioned earlier.
