Career Change to Web Developer?

Hi all, I have no formal university education and having recently returned from a bit of travelling I'm now look at getting serious about a change of career. Web development I feel is something that has got me interested over the last few weeks. I've started using CodeAcademy to try and teach myself to code and I'm really enjoying it. I've given myself a year to two years to try and learn to become proficient enough to be able to work in web development and looking online at job websites there seems to be lots of opportunities available..

I've also been looking at something like this https://developme.training/fellowship/ as I would like some sort of input from a tutor as sometimes it's all a bit overwhelming, How does this course look?

Any other courses or certifications people would recommend? Sometimes there's so much information on the internet that it gets to a point where it too much to absorb, I have 4 different windows open with at least 15+ tabs each of information

I'm self taught, and worked up to a lead position quite quickly after ditching my mech/design engineering career a few years back. I'm now freelancing and contracting which is working really well for me. The only thing I've noticed is that you have to be in London to get decent money doing web stuff - inside London I'm a software engineer, outside of London I'd just be a web designer making half the money.

Check out Colt Steele's Web Developer Bootcamp on Udemy, it should be £10-15.

I'm working my way through it at the moment and it's fantastic. It's only been a couple of weeks but I already feel like I can design basic websites that actually look decent.
