Same company - different hours - same pay
Discussion
Hi all,
Yet to seek proper advice regarding this but thought I would ask the wealth of knowledge that is the piston heads forum!
For purposes of the explanation I will use company A and company B.
Company A - currently employment circa 2.5 years, this is a business unit of company B
Company B - is the owner of company A and other business units.
Company A has recently gone through some big changes and as a result has made many of its staff redundant as part of the business has been relocated elsewhere. All staff were given the option to relocate.
A large part of my role has now been moved to company B, and I have since been offered a job within company B similar to my present job.
The difference between contracted hours is 3 hours per week. However at present I will not see my salary pro rata’d to reflect the new hours.
Is this legal? I’m still working for the same company but a different branch as such. I should be excited about the move but this is leaving a bitter taste as I’m effectively taking a pay cut.
Options
A) fight it
B) get on with the job and be happy I’ve got a job
