Warehouse burns down - employees rights?

A new warehouse opened near us earlier this year and the company went on a recruitment drive, employing some 200 people.

Last night disaster, the warehouse caught fire and looking at this today there's no way it's being repaired, it will need full demolition and new build which will take a while.

The question is what happens to the employees in the meantime?

I've seen conflicting advice from; as it's not the employees issue so even though they can't work they still have to be paid through to everyone out of work as of today.

My thoughts are that the employer will have to pay the employees their notice period as quite simply their job does not exist but is that correct?

The employees should still be paid according to their contracts
they are a bit stuffed if on zero hours contracts though

sure whoever owns the warehouse will need to keep trading so maybe they will rent another warehouse close by or relocate the employees if they have other warehouses already
