Any CNC Machinists looking for an opportunity?
Discussion
We have a new Haas mill and another following in a few months time as part of our drive to bring machining in house as we did with design and rapid prototyping. As such there is an opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team to assist with the rebuild and support of ex F1 machinery amongst other motorsport and related machining tasks. We are fully Fusion 360 so there would be the minimum of gcode related shenanigans. We're based at Bedford Autodrome so easily commutable to from Bedford, Kettering, Northampton etc.
The ideal person would:
- Have experience of running Haas products, ideally VF4, Mini Mill and TL1.
- Have experience of prototype machining, approx 70% of what we do is one off and very small batch.
- Be able to manage material and tooling stocks including ordering to ensure jobs can be completed quickly and efficiently.
- Have experience of achieving tight tolerances and excellent surface finishes and working with design to achieve this.
- Be key in developing the machining side of the business including processes and methods.
- Have a good sense of humour and understand motorsport can occasionally be a drama.... although we're pretty good at avoiding that!
If you're relatively new to it but the right kind of person then we are happy to provide training at Haas F1. If you're an old hat and just want to get stuck in somewhere a bit more diverse and interesting than volume production work offers then that's great. Happy to consider part time or odd hours, there are others here that can run a program and follow your lead but we really want someone to make in house machining their project.
The salary is competitive, time off is good, the working environment is great and you'll be part of a business that does things every day that others can't..... plus there are F1 cars everywhere and you get cheap/free track days, the canteen is pretty good too!
If you're interested post here and I'll message you accordingly
