Different rates of pay

I work for a supermarket as a delivery driver. It's recently been noticed that some of us are on different rates of pay. Most (36 of them) are on £9.25 a hour whilst the rest (five) are on £9.65 a hour. I am on the higher rate. I've never really paid any attention to my hourly rate. As long as I get what I am expected each month I'm happy. I didn't know others were on less.
Understandably, the others are annoyed. It turns out its to do with the job title. I (and the four others) have a different job title as we work in the click and collect area as well, whilst the others are just drivers doing home deliveries. I do one day here and the rest doing home deliveries.
My question is, can they reduce my pay to put it in line with the others? I can't see that they will increase the others. I've not yet spoken to my manager about it, so only have what others have said.

why would they reduce your pay? you are doing a different job, it is only 1 day different though, i presume that you have to interact with more customers and are busier during the click and collect compared to home delivery? i certainly wouldnt be concerned about getting paid less than someone who was doing a similar but different job than me

It's massively busier on click and collect. A ten hour shift doing home deliveries you'll do a maximum of 17 drops in the morning and afternoon another 17 max. You get four hours in the morning and five in the afternoon. Evening is a four hour shift with again max of 17 drops. Sunday is a five hour shift with max of 17. Click and collect will be 17 customers every two hours. For me on a Wednesday I'll easily lift 7,500kg in a six/seven hour shift.
I'm not that concerned, but some of the other drivers want blood because I get more. And if I'm honest, I don't trust the managers not to try and get the rest of us down to their rate as its easier to have five pissed off than 36 pissed off drivers.
I don't want to say too much... But one of the other supermarkets is currently changing contracts for all colleagues. Mainly surrounding pay, premiums, paid breaks etc with an aim to making all colleagues have the same contract.
Historically some drivers get a higher skills payment than newer starters, as well as premiums. So get paid more for doing the same job.
In order to make these contract changes, which colleagues can either accept, or be dismissed, they have to go through a big consultation period and individual interviews with all affected members.
In short, it seems contracts can be changed against your will, but there are many steps to go through first. And I doubt it's down to your manager to simply say, we're cutting your pay to match the others.

If these other drivers worked on Click and Collect, would they also have their pay increased to £9.65?
It would be "unfair" if you had colleagues that were on the same rate as you who didn't have to do the C&C if that is what allows you the additional premium over regular drivers, as that seems to be what it is being given to you for.

It appears not. One of the others does one day a week down there like me and isn't on the same. Spoke to my manager today. Something went wrong when setting the department up six years ago, but my pay won't be affected.

ked up 12 years ago when the department was set up. Everyone should be on £9.25 a hour and not £9.65 a hour that I am on.
They have agreed with the union (always makes me laugh, as I've heard nothing from them...) that over the next four years they will give us less of a pay rise and that will put us inline with the others.
Not a huge issue as I'm hoping not to be there for much longer than a year!
