Car Salesman/Employee at Listers Group
Discussion
I can't reply from an employee point of view, though I've known a few people who worked for them, and someone who is a director there. As a company, they're privately owned and have expanded significantly in the last few years. I expect the sales guys are very much incentivised pay-wise as usual not only to sell the cars, but also the bolt-ons I.e. Finance, paint protection etc etc. which is where they make their bonuses.
I've been (as have a few friends) a customer of the group for a while though budget wise I don't hug nearly new cars anymore, so they're not a place I'm likely to find what I'm after.
The sales guys l know have climbed the ladder nicely, though its very much dependent on which franchise you're working for and who the DP/brand director is e.g the JLR outlets have a very switched on leader, though this is I understand very much where they've invested as a business.
