London or Dublin for a secondment?

Two similar opportunities have come up in my work for a secondment, either to London or Dublin. Travel time is roughly similar for both, and hours will be the same.
Assuming a midweek only trip, which would you prefer? I’ve spent about 9 months in London previously, and I loved it, if only for the food and diversity, but the flat urban hell of it was a bit of a drag. How does Dublin compare?

You have been in London for 9 months previously. Why not try Dublin for yourself? Living there, you will soon know where to avoid the tourists and enjoy the places the locals enjoy.
There won't be as much diversity as London but the food is great and there is plenty there to enjoy.

Thanks. Unsure of the length of the secondment, hopefully only a few months on my terms as the last one became a bit of a drag. There won't be as much diversity as London but the food is great and there is plenty there to enjoy.

I'm based in London but have worked in Dublin. Dublin is massively overrated imho. It's just not very nice. Ok for a weekend, but working their long term, it's not great. It's dirty, it's quite poor, the climate is crap and people drink to much. If you like prostitutes and drugs, it's great.
I know you get all of that in London but in London, it's far easier to avoid.

Yeah. Nothing is as far away in Dublin as things are in London. There's good coastlines north and south of the city, and Dublin Hills in the south.

Have to rather agree with all of that. Being surrounded by drunks is not my idea of a great place to be and there's not enough attractions to balance out the negatives.I know you get all of that in London but in London, it's far easier to avoid.

What’s with all the they drink far too much?
The U.K. England especially the SE and the youth are drinking so little it’s killing the pub trade added to the fact certain religions do not drink again adds to the pressure on a British establishment the local
Call me old fashioned but a pint is fair game.

City centre was lovely, but I was too far out to enjoy it
