Hi
I have received a job offer which I am very happy about, however now I am concerned about the medical questionnaire I am completing.
I have declared that I had a seizure in december 2017 and I am now on medication for that, this is all under control.
However following the seizue I suffered from anxiety that this would happen again, and had time off work for this.
In all I have had 46 days off work in the last 12 months for both the seizure and anxiety.
It is now all under control and everything is ok.
I applied for this new job because at present I have a long commute into work, southampton to London an back daily. This was very tiring and a contributory factor in the seizure. My new job is within walking distance and is for another industry and I am very excited about it.

My question is, is this type of thing likely to result in the offer of the job being withdrawn?

Legally, you can only have your offer withdrawn if your medical history means you would not be suitable to do the job. For example; if you applied for a job lugging sacks of coal around but have a bad back.

If your particular offer is specifically withdrawn as a result of a physical and mental health issue such as this, lawyer up.

However, they're unlikely to tell you if this is why they're withdrawing - they'll invent something else.

How likely that is is anybodies guess - it depends on the hiring company and person. If they do dress this up as something else, you probably don't want to work there anyway.

Thanks, just to round this off I am really enjoying my new role and also the 10 minute commute to work every day, especially as previously it was 2.5 hours!
