Deutsche Bank anyone?
Discussion
Going from Back Office to Front Office in any bank is a matter of difficulty. It is of course possible but this is a how long is a piece of string type of questions. I knew a few people at DB years ago and I think they switched to MO fairly quickly however (all degree educated and usually bi lingual too)

Hello!
How easy it is to move departments in DB? Eg from back office to front office?
Any idea?
Thanks!
It’s a good few years since I worked there, but while it was possible, it was not the norm. People worked in one or the other, and few shifted. How easy it is to move departments in DB? Eg from back office to front office?

Some did, of course, but as others have suggested, measuring how hard it is is not possible.
It has probably got a bit harder in recent years as banks do not want people who understand the cracks, crevices and vagaries of settlement systems being allowed to book trades.
Best thing to do is just ask. Ask HR, ask front office staff, and look at jobs on the intranet.

Thought this thread would be about them losing 12x what they predicted.
Tbh it's not going to be long before something happens to them, look at the ten year share price!
To lose twelve times VaR is strongly suggestive of someone having played silly buggers.Tbh it's not going to be long before something happens to them, look at the ten year share price!
We are strongly discouraged from hedging VaR, as you are just hedging the last crisis, not the real risk.
A 12 VaR event tells you that VaR was wrong.
The regulator pénalisés number of breaches, not the size, but this one is so big that they need their models and positions really gone over in fine detail.
