If you are required to give '3 months' notice' to quit your job, is that 12 weeks or 3 calendar months?

So if you want to leave the job on 06/06/2019, do you have to give notice by 05/03/2019 (3 calendar months) or 13/03/2019 (12 weeks)?

If your contract says 3 months, then its 3 months. Likewise if it says 12 weeks then guess what...?

OK - I guess it's 3 calendar months, not 12 weeks or 90 days.

No need to guess, if it says three months then three months it is, work it back three months from the day you want to leave.

TBH slightly concerning you're in a job important enough to require 3 month notice but don't know the answer.....

If you want your last day as 6th June then resign on 7th March (which is 3 months)
