Bonus shenanigans

Like most people I have a performance related bonus scheme where I work. Going back 2 years, it was great. Opportunity to earn good money if prepared to work. Very pleased. P60 end of April18 showed a record year for myself. Others were doing very well, better than me even.
6 Months ago, employer altered the way the bonus would be paid. (as they are allowed to do) It was altered to a "team" scheme. We all clocked the change would have a negative effect. But were told "This is how it is" Sure enough. Never hit the levels of before, lets say averaging between 50-66% of what it once was. Grumblings to managers were ignored. "we aren't going back, you have to make it work"
It was clear they resented paying out the large bonuses. But we continued to try. Those who couldn't be arsed to try continued to earn the basic they had earned before.
Few months ago. Company hit record month. Best EVER in well over a decade. Praise from area managers, even Directors. Yet despite this, bonus details given out, showed we'd ALL JUST missed the thresholds for bonus. Literally less than 0.5%!
After this company suffered a significant loss, which they will need to cover. Since then all subsequent bonus figures have shown us to once again JUST miss thresholds. Again less than 1% each time.
We think foul!
It strikes us that the company are now trying to recoup their loss by adjusting the figures. But we have no way of proving either way since we simply don't have access to them. And more recently the bonus details we received previously in the first 2 working days of the month are being given out increasingly lately. One month we didn't get them at all!
Some people have decided enough is enough and walked. Interestingly someone overheard an interview where the potential new recruit was told "bonus is easily achievable here, you'll be getting 'old scheme' rates easily if you want it!
So, stick with it, or walk? When it works it's great, but we're into trust issues now. But I'm prepared to hold my nose if its worth sticking for a few months. (Early indicators are it may get worse!) TBH Several colleagues have set dates to re-asses where things are
