Power of attorney required for self employed.
Discussion
My partner is a self employed swimming teacher.
She works for 2 employers on this basis.
One has given her a 'contract' to sign.
The majority of which relates to not taking your kids with you if you move.
There is one part i've not seen before the contract states that a lasting power of attorney is required, is this normal?

If so, I think there has been some lazy drafting - I'd expect to see it in an agreement for a self-employed consultant, as they might be generating commercially valuable intellectual property in their engagement that the company wants to be certain it will end up owning - so, you have a power of attorney clause so that the company can execute documents after the consultant has left. Without wanting to denigrate your other half, I can't see it being relevant to teaching swimming.
Is your other half being asked to sign the agreement as a deed?
