Unfortunately I am in an out of work position and have been for some time, the odd short term job but nothing decent, lots of reason, not to go into here.
I have noticed a recent policy that companies and agencies use whereby if you have already applied there within six months they will not accept your CV, even for a different job.
Can anybody please explain the reasoning behind this seemingly utterly cretinous idea?
You could easily see several jobs per month advertised at large companies say a GE, or car company to apply for, yet if your CV is sent to the HR team for just one, that's it, you are literally not allowed to approach them either directly or through an agency for 6 months?
That strikes me as unjust, unfair and rather stupid on the companies part!

How many CVs do yo think they get in a week? It will be a lot. Then times that by 4 to get the amount they get per month, then again by 6.
It may seem unjust and unfair and from your perspective it is. But from the agency's perspective, they have to have a cut-off point otherwise they'd simply have too many CVs from which to draw.
