PH wise ones.

So, there's a couple of contract roles that have come to my attention in Bahrain and Iraq. Currently paying £500 to £700 day outside IR35 on a 3 week on, 1 week off basis. They also cover the flights and accommodation.

I've never worked in the middle east before, so can someone explain what the tax position is likely to be? I currently do interim work via my Ltd.

Thanks in advance

That will be your take home day rate I would guess.

UK tax rules have no bearing on that rotation however it’s a st rotation. You’ll barely be in the door on your time off and have to get back on a flight.

4/4 is the norm for Iraq and there’s a very good reason for that

There IS payroll tax in Iraq, which your employer should deduct at source, but not all do. I can't remember the exact rate, but expect 8-15% I should think. It was a while since I last worked there.

Bahrain won't be any tax.
