Been told today that my role is for the chop.
Bit
off to be honest as I've only been in the role for 10 months. The role was managing a specific account which is being wound up so was aware that it was potentially limited but at time of recruitment and once in place, I was assured that the account being wound up made no difference to my position and that I would be moved into a different role come the end of the account.
The account is up for renewal again in about 3 months time (once the external customer's budgets have been sorted) and my company is in pole position to retain the account.
What really gets me is that my company are possibly the best I've worked for and I've been told off the record that they'd have me back in a few months like a shot - trouble is they've got nothing to tide me over -nothing at my level anyway (and I can't afford to take a massive salary drop even over a few months).
Just a rant anyway, how's everyone else's day going?!

Only been made redundant once and it was a fit up.
A new CEO needed to show he was omnipotent and made up a complete lie about a change in the direction of the business.
Sorry to say that I was a complete swine from that moment on.
I was so damn pleased when the business was taken over by a competitor and he ended up having to be a shoe shine boy to man who took his job whilst I went on to be a director of a bigger and better company.
These next six months are going to be tough for service industries, good luck pal,
