As a (former) hiring employer I always felt "templated" CV showed a lack of skill/effort.
So every CV set in is in a random format? I have a CV i just wanted a word document to transpose onto with a few main titles to save a few minutes, but will keep looking.
Last time i asked about CV i sent mine only to be crutied because it wasn't in third person and all companies wanted that, well i got a kob off the back of mine without it being in the third person.
Just looking to refresh that's it.

I always wanted to see something that wasn't on some template, especially when some sections where not relevant.
Another poster alluded to some templates don't really work, in the UK as most seem US based.
As much as some people will say hiring is a science, hence why some companies do aptitude tests etc I always went with my "gut" But in this day and age still had to quantify my feelings, incase someone felt the interview/job offer was unfair.

Third person CV's are awful, they are what recruitment agencies send, if I see a candidate CV written in the third person I can usually guarantee they are a wrong'un.I have a CV i just wanted a word document to transpose onto with a few main titles to save a few minutes, but will keep looking.

In a very simplistic way, whilst great presentation is important, the content is by a long chalk more important than any ‘template’.
Having said that, there are a number of common themes from my experiences across a number of industries, simplicity (i.e. less is more) being the most prevalent.
Happy to look over your CV and share some feedback.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I just came on to ask a similar question.
Basically I downloaded a job search app that offered a free CV check, which seemed like a good idea as my current one was written in about 2007, and has just been updated with jobs and address changes as needed. I was expecting it to get ripped to shreds, otherwise why would I want a professionally written one?! A basic package which offers a re-write is £99, which I think is reasonable value.
I plan on looking around at a few other services to get more of feeling for price, but does £100 sound like a correct ball park price?
Cheers,
Craig

Or just send it to Rog007 above or me, we both work in this field and I'm happy to take a look at it, no fee required, I know Rog regularly volunteers to cast an eye over them as well.Basically I downloaded a job search app that offered a free CV check, which seemed like a good idea as my current one was written in about 2007, and has just been updated with jobs and address changes as needed. If anyone wants a reasonably good CV as a template feel free to PM me.
I always have had excellent success with CV's and applications in general, I also have a cover letter I can share.
I was told by one MD that it was "the best he ever saw" and apparently even read it to his wife (??) .
