Developer to SAP Analyst?
Discussion
I can’t decide if this is a good career change, or not!
I’ve been an analyst developer all my working life, generally in small to medium businesses where I do full stack development with lots of architecture, design and business processes. I’ve worked on some really enjoyable things, but recently I can’t deny I’m getting a bit jaded with reinventing the wheel yet again.
The last year I have been data lead on a sizeable SAP implementation project.
My old role of team lead developer has been made redundant. I can apply for a SAP Analyst role, which I have a good chance of securing. I’ve definitely enjoyed the change this last year working closely on the project. Alternatively I can take my 10 years redundancy money and run.
Has anyone made this sort of move? Does it sound like a sensible career path, given I’m not 20 anymore? I’m really having difficulty deciding if to go for it!
