Back in the day these were easy to obtain.

Now, you have to sit a health and safety test then take the CSCS test as well.

The first part you can do online, but it is invigilated, so you're watched on camera.

The second part you have to attend a test centre to take the test.

All seems a lot harder than it used to.

I need to get 4 members of staff through this, and we have tried and failed before, the guys just aren't interested as it is not one of those where you attend and you automatically pass. One of our guys is Polish and there is no option of taking it in another language either!

Looking at sites, being teams of Romanians, Poles, and of course the UK's finest, doing what we do, cleaning, I can't help but think they don't all have CSCS cards, or if they do, they haven't obtained them legitimately.

Are there any workarounds that I am missing? No offence but it's hard to see your general site labourers going through all this in the correct manner.

There was a recent thread about this with several useful posts:

It didn't end well for that thread starter.

The search facility failed me...

Thanks for the pointer.

We are cleaners, we don't get involved in anything related to 90% of what the test is about so even the language/terminology used is alien to our guys. Looks like it will need to be done the hard way!
