A while since I recruited anyone

Have a need for an early career Marketing person that has potential to develop quickly

Product area is "wood carving" and this will be the first pure marketing role the business has had

Where should I be looking / advertising / whatever the form is these days?

IMO If you're after marketing people I'd go looking where people with those skills tend to use most - IG, tiktok and other social media. Going to any of the big aggregate sites like Monster or Indeed might garner a few decent applicants but they'll be vastly outnumbers by the dross. Google 'advertising jobs on x' for some pointers.

'Marketing' is quite a broad brush, so depends on what you actually need from a business perspective... Is it social comms, pricing, advertising, profile raising, is it a local person you want, is it someone with specific skills etc, etc...

Understanding your needs could certainly help steer the best place to recruit/look.

Happy to have a chat if it can help steer you - feel free to PM me*

  • Marcomms is my specialty, but I'd prefer not to divulge publicly where/what but happy to privately to validate my experience.

Do you need to recruit (as in employ, and all that comes with it), or do you need someone who can take care of your marketing needs, who might be self employed and you’re just one part of their portfolio?

If you need them full-time, then the former may be best. If you need them less than full time, then the latter may have advantages.

Very valid input.

Thanks all - input is helping me to formulate the requirements a little more clearly.

I also sought out and spoke to someone doing what I think should be the equivalent role for another brand too - that was helpful

A bit more work for me to do to nail down the scope and check if it fills a full time role, or not

Also - here.

I’ve had some great candidates come through to Interview via PH.

I used to have a second account for this (with permission from the admins) but now I am not so bothered if new hires check out my posting history and already know I have a few screws loose
