Resignation - incorporating annual leave into notice period.

Does anyone know if you have the right to request your accrued annual leave is used as your notice period?

I don't know whether you have the "right" as such but it's a perfect normal thing to do, if both parties are happy. I've just done it myself.

Not only do you not have the right to use your holidays in the notice period, your employer could cancel any existing holidays to allow any handover to be done.

Yep - I've done this in the past (was moving a few hundred miles so used a week's A/L for my move).

It's not a right but you can ask the question. If not used you must be paid for any leave accrued.

It is quite possible that there will be a clause in your contract requiring it......
