Employment law advice - this week - ideally near Bracknell?
Discussion
TL;DR - can anyone recommend an employment law company/lawyer that can check over / sign my redundancy settlement offer, ideally near Bracknell Berkshire?
At the end of last week my manager & HR manager popped up on teams to inform me – out of the blue – that because part of my role has moved to the overseas office, im at risk of redundancy (ive worked here 3 years). They went on to say that, to save me the hassle of the process, they were prepared to offer me a settlement package.
Basically, 3 months paid gardening leave (taxed of course), Stat redundancy pay + an extra 2 months worth of net pay as an untaxed redundancy top-up, plus extra bits and bobs (health care continuing, a pre-prepared reference letter etc)
I was told I have 10 days to have a think about whether I want to accept the settlement, and didn’t need to work, and have up to £350+vat to get legal advice.
Truthfully, I don’t like the company, and had Covid not happened, I think I would have already found a different job, so my gut feel is im happy to take the money and run.
However, the letter I have received implies I NEED the signature of a legal representative to verify the settlement paperwork (I need to check this).
So… can anyone recommend an employment law practitioner that could give my settlement offer the once-over within the budget they’ve given me? Ideally someone near Bracknell?
I need to give them my decision 9am next Monday, so need someone this week.

I believe the information about having to have legal advice and sign-off is correct, I've been there before. The lawyer actually picked up a few minor anomalies.
Just for awareness, before I retired recently, a colleague was looking to get out and was in touch with a few recruitment agencies. They were advised not to resign and then go looking, because despite a very strong CV there's very little out there in their field (Head of Ops/Ops Manager). Just adding that for info in case you weren't aware.
Just out of interest, do your current employers occupy floors in a tower block above a shopping centre?

Re: the office, quite the opposite actually - they moved into a new office last summer, and the communication from management throughout lockdown is that in no way are they planning to close the office down, and they want all employees back in the office as soon as feasibly possible (despite the fact many of us have been loving the WFH aspect).Just for awareness, before I retired recently, a colleague was looking to get out and was in touch with a few recruitment agencies. The new office is also the reason ive been unhappy there - they took the opportunity to install speakers in the ceiling throughout the entire office (except the directors offices) and they play capital FM uninterrupted (I have discussed this previously on here actually). It was several months of me complaining to my manager, then the company doctor, and then HR, that eventually saw them suggesting back in Jan that "maybe this isnt the company for you - would you like us to help you leave?"
The 2 years previous in the old office were fine -i was performing well, was happy, got a payrise etc...
Another reason why lockdown has been great for me - 6 months of being able to do my job without having to drown out s
tty radio for 8 hours...So, i am in no doubt that if i saw i dont want the settlement i will still ultimately be going, just with less money in my pocket.

I do not believe that I am permitted to suggest myself, though nor am I near Bracknell (though of course I suspect everything would be done remotely anyways)
Doh - probably would have hit you up if you'd replied first. As it is ive had a call with a chap this afternoon, who's given me a few things to clarify with them, though on the whole there was nothing catastrophic in the agreement. He has suggested i ask if the extra redundancy payment can be boosted up by a couple of grand just on a "no-harm-in-asking" basis, which obviously i'd like, but am a bit nervous about asking for as i dont have big brass balls.

Always worth asking for an additional contribution - 'Thank you, I've had time to consider this offer, I would be happy to sign this agreement today if you were in a position to increase this offer by two thousand of your earth pounds' Yours Daddy Coolio .
After signing, it's always worth mentioning that you don't have a current phone and that it would be nice if you could purchase your Apple X phone or whatever for an equally reasonable amount.
