My wife sometimes does freelance work in a sport that is primarily based across Europe. She's about to start working for an Israeli team that partakes in this sport, and would be paid for her work by the Israeli organisation whilst she is here in the UK.

Does anyone have a clue as to what the rules are concerning this now that we're no longer in the EU? She doesn't have any professional qualifications that would suddenly be invalid so that's not an issue, but I'm thinking there must be other hassles that could arise?

Previously she has worked for a Swiss organisation and no problems arose at all.

They haven't published the 2000 page document yet, so know one knows!

Probably same as before.

Is she going to have to travel and work in the clients own countries or only remotely from the UK?

Not sure why working for an Israeli team would be affected by brexit, I'm sure they're well used to working with people from all around the world.

May be ask them?

The only complication I can think of is around VAT and the Place of Supply of Goods & Services.

If she's UK based and invoicing somebody In israel then there's no change.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. A bit of research suggests that weve done a trade deal with Israel that carries over whatever agreements the EU has.

She'd most likely be invoicing from the UK and not travelling to the EU.

So I think this should all be reasonably straightforward.

It’s not trade deal dependent.

Somebody in mongolia could engage my services performed here in the UK as long as the resultant invoice gets paid. There aren’t any restrictions for freelancers.

Any difficulty arises from the worker needing to travel to the client and perform services there.
