Staff meetings individually/as a group
Discussion
I worked for a small company, 6 of us in total, we're a really close team. Our employer is currently trying to force us to meet individually to discuss what holiday to do with our holiday entitlement from 2020, we however do not want to do that as they have proven over the last few months via emails and phone conversations to be using bully tactics.
We want to conduct our meeting as a group (socially distanced of course) or via Zoom so that we are all on the same page and nothing is said differently to any individual.
Where do we stand in this? They have natwest mentor as their HR and are insisting we have meeting individually, can we flat out refuse?

Don't you have a right to be accompanied to a formal meeting? If everyone picks the next person along....
If your boss wants a meeting to discuss your leave, you have no right to bring anyone else - this isn't a disciplinary, it's just planning. And they're the boss, they can choose how it's done, you can suggest a better approach, perhaps even try to align so you all go prepared, but your only real other choice is leave as refusing a reasonable instruction from your manager is rarely a good career move...Edited by ozzuk on Thursday 21st January 09:37
