Sketchy Work history

Have an honest answer ready, ideally with a positive side. i.e I was on long term sick with XXX but that is better now. Whilst I was at home I kept current with the industry/did an online course or something else positive if you can.
I just think it will help you explain it as best you can if you think about it in advance.

Total honesty is the best policy IMO - I once got feedback saying I was 'brutally honest' in one of my responses, lol.
People can sense BS so just play it straight down the line.
If an old job caused you medical issues, that's not your fault. You can explain that you needed to leave to maintain your health and have since confirmed what happened, meaning it's now a managed condition under control.
The temporary contracts thing you can play straight as well - you found it difficult to get permanent employment because of your condition at the time, but you are pleased that now you have the opportunity to get your career back on track.

Honesty and truth, unless you were an ax murderer or emptied the company bank accounts most compaines are interested in the person and how they will fit in the roll. no one is perfect, and we all go through rough times and if you can show that you dealt with those times in proactive way that was of benefit and you can talk about it in all honesty you will do fine.

the only issue is i've done that before and it was clearly used against me.
The good thing for this role is they need someone quickly and i have used SAP which they use and have good experience, abeit 5 years ago in the general job role, so hopefully focus on that. At the end of the day it will be competitive and don't hold high hopes.
Don't forget that the interview works two ways - it also allows you to sound them out in terms of what sort of people they are and get a feeling for if you'd like to work there with them. The good thing for this role is they need someone quickly and i have used SAP which they use and have good experience, abeit 5 years ago in the general job role, so hopefully focus on that. They aren't (shouldn't be) an interrogation where you feel privileged to just be in their presence, lol.

I too would have advised for honesty. Just an update, start on Monday. Really looking forward to it, it is a new team, the company is taking over a department from I gather, the only fly in the ointment is my contract is 8 months and will only go longer if the pilot project is succesful. But a job is a job.
