Chosen My Own Umbrella - Is that a Bad Move?

So I did my extensive research prior to the new rules kicking in this April. Found a really good Umbrella (FCSA accredited and APSCo Compliance).

Should I be letting each agent choose the Umbrella for the role since I don't seem to be getting my foot in the door?

I picked my own umbrella, think the only criteria was that they had FCSA regulated. I just told my agent who I'm using and they set everything up.

Survey the Umbrella is just there to handle payroll. You get the job via an interview with the client arranged by an agency?
