Moving Back to London - where to start with Finance Jobs
Discussion
Hi All
So after 12 years in Asia (Singapore/Hong Kong) we have decided to return to the UK at the end of the year. This is primarily driven by my son starting school soon, and the fact we want to settle down in a house of our own rather than living at the mercy of landlords.
I've worked in Finance since 2000 - mostly project work but more recently have been focused on developing new products and business opportunities surrounding Wealth Management and Fintechs.
My current employer is not being particularly helpful with my move - my boss has no contacts as the bulk of our head office is in mainland Europe. Also, after 8 years in the same bank, I am quite open to a change.
I have applied for a lot of roles via LinkedIn, but don't get any replies, or just a standard rejection after a few weeks. My CV is a bit of a mix of roles, so I don't fit neatly into x roles with 15 years direct experience, but I do have a very broad range of experience which allows me to fit into a number of roles with limited time to get up to speed.
I am somewhat open to contracting, but would prefer perm roles as I need to get a mortgage and without a track record of contract engagements I have heard this is hard
I'd be really interested if anyone had any good contacts in recruitment who might have some time to have a chat about my CV and see what roles would be a good fit for me.
Thanks in advance!
