Training as an IFA

I'm currently mulling over the idea of training as an IFA and am trying to understand the qualifications necessary to do so. Has anybody done this recently?

I've seen the costs for DipFA courses ranging from £1k to £6k which feels like too wide a spread. It feels that courses for this shouldnt be as cheap as £1k unless I'm missing something?
