Discussion
My name is Tom Clark and I am 19 years old, I am a second year motorsport engineering student at Wiltshire College.
I am currently studying towards a BTEC National Diploma in Vehicle Repair and Technology (Motorsport). Upon completion of the course I would like to pursue a career working on racing cars. I am looking for a full time job for when I finish college in June.
I am currently helping Hamilton Motorsport run two Formula Fords in the Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 Championship.
I am hard working, punctual, willing to learn new skills and work well within a team. Travelling is not a problem as I am able to drive.
CV available on request. Please contact me using my e-mail address tom_clark_0507@hotmail.com
Many thanks,
Tom Clark

I'm with Finchy.
That is a well written intro.
The shy retiring style won't get you very far in this business. You should follow up on this by going and seeing every proffesional race team in a 25 mile radius of your home. You will instantly earn credit because you got off your arse and chased your carrer.
All the best

Thank you for your comments and advice.
Good idea about looking through the Autosport directory for teams, hadn't thought of that.
Will the fact that I have only had experience on single seaters make me unemployable/less likely to get a job with a GT/touring car team or are all the basic skills transferable?

A basic starting point to work hard and cope with the pressure of being in the paddock and pitlane is fundamentally the same for all championships.
What teams do not want is someone that they cannot trust, will be unreliable and not give 110% for the hours they work.
Perhaps email graham at Lanan who has just replied to this post. After all he does run a race team haha!!
Going to the teams in person with a printed CV will earn you respect from the teams and also if you are well presented and polite you have already done some of the work.
Best of Luck
