I start a Journalism/media degree in September with the long term aim of becoming a motoring journalist, but I'm looking to get a little bit of freelance work under my belt prior to starting, or just something published to add to the portfolio. Does anyone know of any small publications that might accept potential articles. I've started by emailing some locals so i'll see where that gets me.

Thanks in advance
Rich

Autosport are asking for 200 word articles from readers attending club-race events. See this weeks edition with the F1 season guide within

Maybe get in contact with some local car clubs? Or, next motoring show of any sort, try and blag your way into the press area and see who you can talk to. Got to be worth a shot..

Majority of motoring jounos are White, Middle Class background/Professional parents and well over 6ft tall.
If you fit those criteria - you'll have no probs smile
