Well, I passed my selection test a couple of weeks ago and now I have my interview on the 8th April.

I was wondering what to expect. For example, what sort of questions will ask and that sort of stuff?

Thanks. Dave

They'll want you to convince them (and yourself) that you'll be happy if you are sent to spend large chunks of your life out in the sandpit. Some of the exotic destinations on offer also come complete with incoming rocket attacks at times. Will you be happy being armed? If you are deployed on ops doing comms you may end up as well aquainted with an SA80 as you'll be any radio kit.

It sounds obvious, but have a convincing reason for wanting to join the RAF in your chosen trade. Have a bit of an idea as to what the RAF do in the current climate, where you can expect to serve. Expeditionary Air Wings are the current vogue, the RAF website has quite a lot of detail.

Sell yourself to them, they like sports, activities, involvement, that sort of thing. Are you interested in promotion?

Be positive, don't bullst. If you don't know the answer to something, then say so. They won't expect you to have an answer for everything, they're just looking for trainable, flexible people with a positive attitude and a bit of drive.

Good luck with it.
