Yes another first time redundant thread

Hi Folks,

Today I am going to my office for the last time. The company has decided to reduce its management team in the UK and locate more in CH, so for the first time in my life I am unemployed. Its strange time, as although the package is not great I am not really that worried at all. I am looking forward to the time ahead. Perhaps I am delirious but I am getting married in June and really looking forward to that, something to focus on.

I know I am in a fortunate situation, but I still have a large mortgage and various other outgoings and while its easy to say things could be worse, I think they really could.

Really what I am trying to say is if you are in a similar situation to me, please keep your chin up. I am sure something positive will com of it. A friend of mine was out of work for 24 months, but he said that it was the best time of his life, as his relationship with his kids was fantastic - taking them to school and helping out on school trips,

When stayed in a job long enough to be made redundant I made myself a long list of things to.

Hardly managed to do any of them, something better always turned up.

Hope you managed to get something sorted, but make the most out of the opportunity to step out of the rat race.
