Clinical Scientists - Career help needed
Discussion

Mrs Ray_Singh is looking at returning to work after a career break, raising our family.
She is keen to become a clinical scientist (is currently a microbiologist) - but after some researching it seems to be a royal PITA to get into.
Can anyone advise or help us? Please....
I take it you mean a laboratory based clinical scientist in a hospital?
I would give the NHS recruitment websites a good look. They regularly recruit "Trainee" positions and I have seen clinical scientist positions advertised there in the last few months. Unfortunately though they seem few and far between with a tendancy to recruit accredited Biomedical scientists as a preference. That is not to say more specialised roles do not exist though.

There is also a training program;
