I have just finished university (Chester) with a 2:1 in Business/Marketing, and like many others am now looking for a job (and have been since the start of the year).

I'm looking for somewhere to make a start, a common theme at the moment is the desire for experience, in particular directly relevant industry experience which is somewhat difficult for a 21 year old graduate to get (5+ years in the automotive industry/telesales .etc)

I have retail/sales experience gathered whilst at university, and also experience working in a marketing position within an IT services company (Small scale).
I have no illusions, I will have to start on the first rung. but even this seems difficult at the moment.

I'm willing to accept anything, would prefer for it to at least have something to do with my degree which is quite wide ranging, but more importantly I want the opportunity to build upon what I have and prove myself.

Currently I'm living in Chester, Can commute where required and would be happy to do anything, provided that it would enable me to develop a career in the longer term and make some progress.

If anyone could offer some advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

a nice, varied selection of positions - some of which suit your education.

A good bet would be to keep an eye peeled for openings in the Bank of America in Chester business park. They've just laid off hundreds of bods recently but they will need to hire again at some point and your degree might give you the edge you need.

I would suggest temping there if possible in the mean time. Aside from family connections (it was bank policy to interview anybody with family in the bank) it is the best way of getting in. You would not want to work on the phones if possible though.
