Fit-to-work certificate

I have been off work with flu and now need a fitness certificate to go back to work. According to the NHS ( ) if I am off work for more than 7 days I also need a sick note but so far it has been 6 days (Sunday-today/Friday). If I have a fit-to-work certificate today, would I no longer need a sick note?

A sick note is only required from day 8 onwards.
