Management role without 'experience'
Discussion
You've just answered it.
You have seen both good and bad therefore you know how to be a good manager and what to avoid in order not to be a bad manager. Further, one cannot get experience of being a manager without someone giving them a chance................
And let's face it, being a manager is really quite simple, except for attending the hundreds -of meetings that you suddenly get involved in thereby doing a third of the work you used to do - yet getting paid more..... But don't mention that bit..

Hi Guys,
How can you convince someone interviewing you that you would be a good man Manager even though you have no direct experience of this but years of observing and being managed by good and bad managers to draw upon??

If they want experience, it is hard. Most of our managers had little man management experience before but were all intelligent and observant people. The best employers will mentor new managers and not leave them to sink or swim on their own. In small companies, management is more about the interpersonal skills and empathy; in larger ones, success is often based on your ability to play politics and less on the happiness of your staff (sad but true). How can you convince someone interviewing you that you would be a good man Manager even though you have no direct experience of this but years of observing and being managed by good and bad managers to draw upon??

I'd emphasise that is something you have a great deal of confidence in doing. Plus, try to draw on relevant examples in your personal life that show suitable skills (village committees, fund raising, running hobby clubs etc.). Ensure they don't think you are a cocky git though
