Writing an awkward CV

I'm trying to put together my CV at the moment, and I'm struggling to get it right. The main issue is that my experience and qualifications haven't followed the typical path of school, uni, job. Instead I have gone off and done a couple of little adventure-type things alongside a degree (and an initial messed up one - that's another issue I can't work out how to include) and working.

I'm fairly sure that, somewhere within my background, there lurks an impressive CV. Unfortunately, at the moment I can't quite find it!

I'd really appreciate any help or advice, either in general or otherwise.

You are more than welcome to have a look at how mine is laid out - spent a stupid amount of time to get it right - most recruiters have reacted very favourably to it - don't pretend its perfect but I'm happy with it
