Bloomberg interviews
Discussion
Little bit of a rant I guess but wanted to see how many others had had similar experiences.
I applied for a position with Bloomberg in their IT networking area, directly through their website. I was fortunate enough to be selected for an interview but sadly did not make it to the second stage of the interviews. I felt the interview went fairly well and was told I would hear back by the end of the week.
End of the week came and nothing. Ok, no big deal. Obviously very busy given size of company etc. Left it until end of following week and decided to call to find out where things stood. Couldnt get through to anyone, left a message but no response. Left it another few days and called back again. Again, nobody in HR availbale, so left a message. 2 days later I get an automated response to say the position had been filled. Fair enough. So I mailed the recruiter (no point in phoning) to ask for any feedback on my interview. been 3 weeks with no response.
Now, as I said, I respect they likely had heaps of applicants for such a role but surely it doesnt take much for a little feedback on your interview, and also not take over 3 weeks to advise you had not been sucesfull, especially when you had been advised it would be by the end of the week

Generally terrible in the way their HR dept operates in terms of letting candidates know.
I applied for a sales jobs there last year, about 5 weeks later got the nod for a phone interview, answered all her fairly basic finacial questions correctly (price fo oil, cause of reccession etc) and then 4 weeks later got the email saying I had not made it through. Fair enough I thought.
I then applied again after 6 months with a very similar CV and 8 weeks later saying I had not made the initial grade.. Useless. (or I am

)I've found that as soon as you are of no further interest to a company (be it a direct application or a recruitment agent) it's as if you no longer exist. You'll be lucky to get feedback on failure too, sometimes there just isn't a valid reason and they won't want to admit that!
The only way to deal with it is to move straight on to the next job application as soon as you've been to the interview and never dwell on the "ifs or maybes".
