Well I’m another number on the increasing unemployed list.
A big company which all our clients dislike (some think of them as poison) bought us out a year ago the old MD sold up due too much work and cash flow problems from late payers, so the company was doing well in the terms of sales.

The MD even gave us a tax free lump sum of cash for our commitment and loyalty to the company after the he got the payment for the company, the team was really positive there and motivated.
The new owners were looking positive at first but there was many disagreements with existing managers and new on how things should be done, and allot of our faces didn’t fit.

They have decided to move office and told many that they have a job if they relocate/travel but the journey to the main head office which is too fair for everyone on the wages they were on, in other words you are been made redundant. The office move is to make people leave as the MD has 6 drive to there and back, which I cannot see him doing as he does not like travelling.

Those that have decided to travel are been picked off one by one, such as the field based people such as myself.
I have never seen a company act so evil.

As I have been looking to get another job while in work there for over a year without success, I have never felt so angry and bitter in the way I have been treated, but I suppose it is good thing that I am no longer there it was really affecting my family life, it has almost lead to the split up with my partner and always in bad mood which is not good for my little boy.

I think they are taking advantage of the current market as they are saying they are making a lost but we turned over more than last year, I know this is true as all my projects have made 63% profit and so has the ones managed by others.

The only reason we are dragged down is due to the company the parent company decided to merge us with was in difficulties.

I feel really sorry for one of the guys who mans our helpdesk, as he has managed to obtain emails which contain details of them wishing to eject him from the company, they were not expecting him to move to the new office as every apart from him has taken redundancy.

All the ones who have spoken up as well about how the change would kill the company has been ejected before all this happened as well.

One of the old directors who wanted to keep allot of things the same has been pushed out of the company, my line managed was over loaded with work on purpose to make him fail, but we as team manage to pull off the impossible and hit the profit target of 62.5% in fact a 0.5% better so it was 63% profit, he was forced to take up new procedures which just did not make sense as we were functioning effectively already.

To be honest it nice to be off work for the time being as I was working over 60 hours a week on average with a few of the weeks I was doing over 70 hours, if they had not applied these new procedures I would have averaged 45 hours week they made allot of extra work for us and did not like us questioning it.

Hope you too that that have reply to this post best of luck in your search, but I have noticed employers are taking the advantage as they are spoiled for choice on who to recruit.
