Car delivery driver / trade plater

Hi I'm looking for something part time while I'm training for my next proper job, does anyone on here deliver cars for a dealership / car supermarket ?
I make most of my living through my Ebay shop but that only takes a couple of hours a day, I want something that gets me out of the house & is relatively stress free.
Is it just a case of going round to the garages and asking ? Or is there a specific route into a job like this?
I've done 20 years in the mechanical/auto electrics field if that kind of background is preferable.

If you want a stress-free job, plating is not for you. Lots of hanging about and hitch-hiking to your next job. I make most of my living through my Ebay shop but that only takes a couple of hours a day, I want something that gets me out of the house & is relatively stress free.

If you just have a car licence, you'll be limited in what you can drive. LGV & PCV entitlement would be useful as would a digicard.

I see a lot of platers when I'm in my truck but unfortunately due to insurance reasons, I'm not allowed to pick them up.
I wouldn't like to be standing about in the cold and rain, with my thumb out.
If trade-plating was easy, everybody would be doing it.

I know many drivers hate working for agencies, but these got me the intro to a company who were desperate for drivers, and took me on full time after just a week on the agency.

Mark when i was on short time this year i joined Manpower agency. I was a bit apprehensive as i'd never used an agency before. Also only being available for 2 days a week i thought i'd be overlooked.
I ended up with work pretty much every week, from warehouse to driving vans about to drivers mates in lorries. sometimes the pay was crap at around 6 quid an hour for warehouse but sometimes it was 8 quid plus an hour. At Parcelforce i drew ten quid an hour so not too bad.
The main thing with them is doing a good job and reliability. I met some great lads and only a few a***holes on the job.
Get joined up they will definetely get you some work, and its better than sat on your backside watching Jeremy Kyle.
