No contract - notice period

I'm currently working as a pub manager. I've been offered another job somewhere else and am planing on taking it but am unsure as to what my legal notice period is. I think it's one month but as I don't have a contract with my current employer do I need to give any. Morally yes I do but over the last month or so I've felt like they wanted to get rid of me. I've posted on this foram recently regarding this, so at the moment all I want to do is go in and tell them where they can shove it. As I'm a nice bloke I can't do that.

So my question is, is a months notice acceptable.

Any help would be great.

A month is more than acceptable given they have not issued you with a contract. You could tell them to shove it but like you say morally that seems wrong and you never know could come back to haunt you...
