Bear with me...
Right, let me set the scene, i'm mid twentys, out of uni 2 years now and struggling for motivation and or direction!
Always did well at school, not super intelligent, but did ok (i.e 6 A's 3 B's and a C @ GCSE, and 2 B's and a C @ A-level), went to uni and studied a business management & human geography degree, struggled to gain motivation with the work, and to be honest was totally done over on dissertation by my uni, leading me to a distinctly average 2:2.
Flashforward a couple of months and my partner decides she wants to do a PGCE- so we decide to relocate to allow her to do this, obviously relocation doesnt come easily, so off we go lock, stock, and barrel. This leaves me needing a job, and i take the first chance i get, which is a low basic sales job with a decent OTE...all sounds good.
But. Following on from her qualifying, getting a teaching post, i find myself stuck, in a job that i no longer truly enjoy, and to be honest is suffering so badly economically that the OTE is around half of what was expected.
Pull yourself together you'd think, man up, etc etc... trust me i've tried to find a different job, but in reality the only jobs being advertised either expect years of experience for very little pay, or are again basic wage sales jobs promising exorbetant OTE.
I have no idea what i want to do... but it needs to pay decently (£20-25k to live as we are), be interesting, and have decent scope for progression. My limiting factor is my background, a strong but not amazing education background, no specialist skills and a history of pure retail work.
So..i'm throwing it out there to the savages of PH to give me some advice, and i have firmly donned thy flame suit LOL
