Manufacturing engineers

So what do you guys expect to get from a manufacturing engineer? It's seems everyone I've spoke to has a different attitude towards that area of work.

Personally myself I work in the assembly side for high horse power diesel & gas engines but am also heavily involved in six sigma & the facilities side of proudction

Every company defines roles differently.

The demarcation lines between analysis, design, testing, research, modelling, drawing, manufacturing and quality are different in every company.

Every company seems to think that their definition is the right one and that if you are, for example, a designer that doesn't use CAD or a modeller that doesn't do analysis then you must be wrong.

So to answer your question an employer would expect any combination of the above including any combination of all the sub headings such as six sigma.
