DHSS Interview?

When I had this recently, the guy cast an eye over my CV and the list of jobs I'd recently applied for, asked which websites I used to look for jobs, and the interview pretty much petered out once he could see I'd been applying for suitable jobs and wasn't a lead-swinger.
He did refer me to renovo.co.uk who are working with jobcentres to help "professionals and executives" (I suspect their interpretation of this is anyone who goes to work in a suit) who gave me some reading material, a critique of my CV, and a chat about how I was approaching agents and employers.
Depressingly, the feedback was that my CV was excellent and my job searching tactics were on the money, so there was little more they could do to help. It's worth scheduling some time with them though, you could get some useful pointers.

The Department of Works and Pensions looks after state pensions and Benefits
HM Revenue and Customs collects the taxes and National Insurance that funds all of these.
It's pretty much the same as your previous sign ons, though they might just ask for a bit more detail on any prospects you've had. After the 3 month interview you go on a to a weekly sign on (well you still sign on fortnightly but you also go in for a similar chat on the alternate weeks), so they'll want to update your jobseekers agreement in your 3 month meeting.

They also decided it was pointless me coming in for weekly signing and put me back on fortnightly
I spose in a town of less than 10000 people, if theres 10% unemployment. Thats only 1000 people.
If you assume that only 40% are of workin age then thats 400 people.
Signing on fortnightly thats 200 a week.
Theres eight desks, thats 25 people each a week.
5 a day.
Not really a huge workload for em
Edited to add they haven't actually found me a job or anything useful though.
