The depressing truth is, when you earn £100k a year, you will not feel any better off than you do now.
Really?!I'm sure there's quite a big difference between a £20K salary and a £100K salary.

Lawyer (of the blood sucking type). Job done, next question.
All the lawyers I know and use work a whole lot longer than 40 hours a week, mind you their fees are huge current project looks like £300k in legal fees for us and £700k for the otherside. That buys 2 sites and delivers 2 public buildingsmaix27 said:

If you want the extra salary to blow on nicer things, bigger house etc, you won't feel 'financially' better off.
If you want to increase your salary to boost savings and be more confident in your ability to cover future requirements (kids, family holidays, etc) then you will feel better off.
If I had an extra £1.5k flowing into my savings each month, I would feel better. But not sure I would feel better if I bought a new house with an extra bedroom and a conservatory if I still had to sweat and work my arse off to meet the mortgage payments.

Must be legal, realistic, not working more than 40 hours a week and not involve leaving mainland UK.
TIA
does anybody work just 40 hours here and turn in a healthy wage?TIA

ETA - depends what you classify as 'healthy'....
