Starting out on your own......
Discussion
Ok, I'm looking at setting up my own car detailing business. This will be the first time I've ever done anything like this, and as you can guess I'm a bit scared.
What are the steps I will need to do to set up, are there any decent websites and/or companies to help.
Sorry for being a bit thick on this subject, any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Rob

I think follow the "Polish" model, Get a plot and offer the full service from Bread and butter £7 wash your car to the £250 full detail....
The thing is to offer year round service with good polished etc you will need a unit or covered area that can have its temperature maintained.

I'm not worried about that side of things, I'll sort out a price plan later. Would it be beneficial to do some sort of small business course, what sort of insurance will I need to look at getting, what do you need to keep records of for taxes and stuff??The thing is to offer year round service with good polished etc you will need a unit or covered area that can have its temperature maintained.

Be very, very careful with your insurance. An absolute classic is for brokers to offer you 'all you need' insurance at a very good price, and only later do you find out that it wasn't in fact all you needed. They do it because they think if they quote you for decent insurance (which is expensive) you will go elsewhere looking for a better price.
As for where to start, got o a library, or a WHSmiths, there's masses of books that will tell you what to do in minute detail.
